A new edition of Isolarion was published in March 2020, just before lockdown. A long string of events in support of the book through spring, summer and autumn had to be cancelled.

James read his piece ‘On Margate Sands’…. in Margate (on the sands) on 11 August 2019 as part of Katie Paterson’s participatory artwork ‘First There Is a Mountain’. You can read it here, in the digital anthology of writers’ contributions to the work

James spoke at the opening of the exhibition ‘Destination Moon’ at the National Maritime Museum about his book Nocturne: A Journey in Search of Moonlight on 19 July 2019
