At Easter I travelled to the Isle of Jura for the first everĀ Tip of the Tongue / Barr Mo Theanga FestivalĀ on the 8th and 9th of April. Storytelling, music, poetry and song, in English and Gaelic, on an island with a permanent population of two hundred. The moon was full, the whisky flowing and I shared the event in the bar of the Jura Hotel with the newly appointed National Storytelling Laureate, Katrice Horsley. When I finally left the building, at around 2.30 in the morning, red deer were jumping up from the beach and trotting down the street.
Just bought a signed copy from Roy’s on Islay. I presume you signed a few while you were passing through Islay on your way to Jura. I’m loving the book.
